In memory of Gerhard Roth
In addition to his extensive writings as an author, Gerhard Roth always found time to pursue his passion for photography. This led to, among others, the photo book “SPUREN”. A Selection of Photographs from 2007 to 2017.” Gerhard Roth captured photographs of the daily goings-on of nature, all its processes and creatures like rust or ice and processed them artistically. Some photos or just details and excerpts inspired the carpet designer Harald Geba. Harald Geba took seven abstract photographs from this book and reinterpreted them—in consultation with Gerhard Roth—converting them into carpet art.
Countless friends and acquaintances of Gerhard Roth came to the first ever presentation and exhibition opening of this special carpet series on 10 May 2022
. Some of those present included his daughter Petra Roth-Pracher, architect and artist, who opened the exhibition with a few words about her father’s work;
Senta Roth, his widow; Isabella Holzmann, director and curator of the Greith Haus in Ortisei; former governor Franz Voves, a dear friend; and many more friends of the Geba Carpet Gallery.

The exhibition will continue until 4 June 2022 as part of the Graz Design Month, on display at the Geba Carpet Gallery.
